another day, another head ache..

Well, my tita gave my family free tickets to see this classical concert last Tuesday and of course, I decided to go.

I really didn't expect to like it that much cause when I thought of a classical concert, Id think of pianos, violins, and guitars playing slow melodic music... thus making you sleep.. but it was SO much different.

It was a solo concert of the musical maestro Alvaro Pierri, who is a multi award winning classical guitarist. The stage just had a chair for him to sit on and no microphones, since the room was enclosed and you could hear every little sound in the room * I kept shouting in the room to see how loud it would echo, and shocked a lot of people..*

Also, Mr. Tony Boy *guy who owns dream cable, bars, blah blah blah, husband of gretchen bareto* actually sat right next to my dad and talked about his plans to make a 70's night for the older generation in one of his bars.

Anyway, The concert started with Pierri playing brazillian compostitions.

my comments???

HE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!

I never thought classical could seem so hard! Pierri is like steve vai without a pick, seriously!

I really enjoyed the last peice he played, where in he just went wild and started using his guitar as a kahon while plucking notes and pulling of natural harmonics by pressing the 12th, frets of his notes.. GAHHHH AMAZING!!!!

Even my dad and my music teacher was amazed.... Also all the guitar teachers from UST, UP, and... forgot the other school.

After the concert, my tita treated everyone for a snack at a bar near the place. After eating, the guitar teachers played classical pieces that were all... a m a z i n g

Then all of a sudden, Pierri walks in and joins us.

Thats the first time i felt "star struck" yeah, if thats what you called it. Not only is he an amazing "
over used this word already" player, but he is SUPER KIND.

Him and the teachers talked about classical composers and talked about tips and tricks on playing classical.

I didn't understand a thing though, but I didn't care :)) I was sitting right next to a legend.

Too bad we didn't have a camera... GUHHHH owell.... at least I got his autograph.

I got home at 2:30am and had a really bad head ache because of my cold. I don't regret missing school... I loved last night!
